DESCRIPTION
The family story told in the film is set in a specific political and social context – in 2011, seven months after the revolution in Tunisia. During the holidays, 11-year-old Aziz is seriously injured by a terrorist ambush. A liver transplant is the boy’s only chance to rescue. The results of the hospital’s tests will reveal a hidden family secret. Far from moral judgment or condemnation, Barsaoui shows the clash of modernity and tradition, the redefinition of the concepts of paternity and motherhood, the evolution of social roles and, in the human dimension, the issues of second chance and forgiveness.
