DESCRIPTION
Max Richter’s opus “Sleep” is an eight-hour-long performance, composed as an antidote to the fast-paced and hectic life of today. It is also a composition that requires the musicians to be in an unprecedented condition, giving the audience a respite and a sense of unity immersed in the “Sleep”. The director accompanies Richter in preparations for the most ambitious live performance, presenting “Sleep” at the open-air concert in Grand Park in Los Angeles. She poetically portrays the artist, his work, but also a strong and creative relationship with his life partner Yulia Mahr.
The screening by courtesy of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity.
