DESCRIPTION
An intellectually and aesthetically sophisticated cinematic dream that takes place simultaneously in two sets of time. Nowadays, a young doctor Jakub is going through a crisis of relations with his fiancée, Maria, and decides to desperately save his relationship. The second plot takes place in the middle of the nineteenth century at the manor house of the ailing heiress Elisabeth and the governess Maria taking care of her. In this film, full of surprising images, Grzegorzek seeks the truth about human relations and emotions: love and hatred, but also hope.

Mariusz Grzegorzek (1962), polish film, theatre and television director, set designer, screenwriter, graphic designer and producer. Since 1989 lecturer at the National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź, 2012-2020 rector of the university. He debuted as a feature film director in 1993. Co-owner of the Krakatau production company. As a theatrical director associated with the Stefan Jaracz’ Theatre in Łódź. He is the author of music films devoted to outstanding figures in contemporary music, as well as the set design for several theatrical performances and films.
